I ordered this book from Amazon based on the fact that it was recommended to Harry Potter fans (...also Twilight fans...). The cover itself intrigued me and I find myself getting more into the dark and macabre themes. I don't know whether I'm drawn to freakiness or the turn of the century victorian-ness, but I absolutely love this book. I have to blame all the art I see on deviantArt, those of kyme-chan or Something-Scary for making me love darkness... although I am still somewhat scared of the dark. Or it could possibly be how close it is to Halloween...
This wonderful book, The Night Circus jumps between a 29 years, going back and forth. There is a love story, magic spells, and a lot of beautiful freaks. I can just picture Logue's flat (from The King's Speech) as the one that Marco occupies and see the designs that Mme. Padva creates. They are stunningly beautiful, yet only in black and white, to fit into the theme of La Cirque de Reves. Maybe I'm just drawn to the french in this book too.
The way that Mrs. Morganstern writes, she ends up creating a whole new world. She knows everything that is happening in the world and leaves no detail overlooked. Everything in the book just fills my imagination and dreams. This book is just a chef d'oevure, a masterpiece. I couldn't put it down. (Well... I had to for three hours due to my homework). I stayed up until 3 A.M. reading.
It's just a wonderful book, and I hope you immerse yourself into this dream as much as I did.
Also excuse my horrible grammar.
