“Give me Harry Potter,” said Voldemort’s voice, “and none shall be harmed. Give me Harry Potter, and I shall leave the school untouched. Give me Harry Potter, and you will be rewarded.
“You have until midnight.”
The silence swallowed them all again. Every head turned, every eye in the place seemed to have found Harry, to hold him frozen in the glare of thousands of invisible beams. Then a figure rose from the Slytherin table and he recognized Pansy Parkinson as she raised a shaking arm and screamed, “But he’s there! Potter’s there! Someone grab him!”
Before Harry could speak, there was a massive movement. The Gryffindors in front of him had risen and stood facing, not Harry but the Slytherins. Then the Hufflepuffs stood, and almost at the same moment, the Ravenclaws, all of them with their backs turned to Harry, all of them looking toward Pansy instead, and Harry, awestruck and overwhelmed, saw wands emerging everywhere, pulled from beneath cloaks and from under sleeves.
“That you, Miss Parkinson,” said Professor McGonagall in a clipped voice. “You will leave the Hall first with Mr. Filch. If the rest of your House could follow.”
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, page 610, Chapter 31: The Battle of Hogwarts
I'm rereading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at the moment, at least the part right after where the movie (Part 1) ends to refresh my memory on what happens. I could never pick a favorite movie, but I think this is one of the best parts of the book. Though the book I've most enjoyed reading and read the most would probably be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Movie... possibly Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (because I love seeing Tom Felton as a messed up Draco) though Prisoner of Azkban is a close second.
These books and movies defined my childhood. I grew up with Harry Potter and seeing it end is so bittersweet. I'm never going to have the same anticipation of waiting for another movie or another book. It's just that weird. I don't think any other book series could make up for this. The good thing is, I can always rewatch and reread these books. The legend will continue. The era may be ending, the legend is beginning.
I think my favorite character though is Draco Lucius Malfoy. Not only because Tom Felton is a BRITISH BABE, but because if you think about it, there is great depth to the character and I would and could write an essay about it. J.K. Rowling is a wonderful writer (LONG LIVE QUEEN ROWLING)
The scenes I'm most excited for in the last and final movie would probably be breaking into Gringotts, the fight between Mrs. Weasley and Bellatrix, and the one I typed up above. (If they have it that is). OLIVER WOOD IS COMING BACK, but Fred is going to die. Such a bittersweet day, July 15 will be. 7 more days. 7 more days until the end.
